In this RP we are playing modern day royals. This is a framework and I'm always open to suggestions. I'm looking for this to be some form of queer relationship. It doesn't necessarily have to be that we both identify as female, one character could be transgender and the other non-binary or perhaps. I tend to like to play as trans-femme typically.

Our countries had been at war for hundreds of years before our fathers decided to be the generation to end it. They agreed on peace but only if we merged countries. The best way to symbolize this was for us to get married and become co-rulers. Same-sex marriage is common in our lands and that was not a big issue for the people of either country, in fact it's becoming more and more normal. Though I honestly had always envisioned marrying a man, I knew that now as an adult and a royal I have a duty and responsibility to my people to do what is in the best interest of my country. But how would you react to me?
We were to be married in 6 months. However, before that we were to meet several times to get to know one another this was one such occasion. (it could be our first meeting or one further down the timeline.)
