My first post of '23. Nice.
But yes, this is a long-term partner search. I can save us time and start with listing a bit about myself as an RPer, or, how I see it: 'all the things that're likely to render us incompatible,' whatever that means these days.
- Available late Friday night - Sunday, at least once a week. (I'm EST.)
- Somewhat back-and-forth posting style, as opposed to scattered, infrequent posting.
- Discord or Google Docs only, with a strong preference for GDocs for the actual writing.
- Open to all pairing types. NSFW. Story > smut.
- Third person, past tense. (Unless serving as a temporary storytelling device.)
Those are the major constants that I'm looking for and not willing to compromise on, though I welcome any questions you might have in their regard. If you're good with those parameters, then onward!
'Archives of Eternity' is a little different from the vibes I'm used to poisoning RP subreddits with, in that the prompt is initially constructed with genre tones heavily steeped in romance, with fantasy adventure coming in second. The world is completely AU and open to development, seeing as I've only established one small-scale region, its native race and fantastical background, of which I've condensed to influence strictly that of the established domain.
Eknoa - A village populated with anthropomorphic Eknoan wolves, ancient creatures once charged with protecting three sacred sanctuaries within the village.
Quoth - A character I've been meaning to write officially since her conception last year. Originally her character design stemmed from my first and only DnD attempt. Since, I've made numerous modifications, to where I consider her predominantly OC material, but for the sake of accreditation, I mention her nerdy origins.
But nevermind her. The true star of the event is your character~. The only background I've constructed in their vein is that they are not human and they are capable of taking down low-tier beasts, as disclosed in the below intro.
The storyline is open-ended and set in an open-world: the Archives of Eternity. The general laws and nature of things seldom abide accordingly. Constructs break. Information can be lost. Information can be found. Written, unwritten. Logical, illogical. The only constant is its inherent paradox--that there is no constant.
The story begins when our characters' paths cross. My character is out hunting one night when she's quickly outnumbered by woodland beasts. That is, until your character arrives on the scene from Out of the Nowhere and gives 'em all the old 'one, two, one two.'
Who are they? What are they? Where are they from? Why were they near the border of Eknoa? All questions unknown to both me and my character, as your character promptly passes out post monster slaying. And that is where the intro picks up.
So without further ado, I present unto you, my latest bid for tomfoolery:
rei. - the blood pours / to kill ruthlessly |
---|
If born of the Eknoa wolves, the sight of blood is a small matter. But the smell of it can be appetizing. And the spilling of it… satisfying.
All wolves swore this.
Yet still, her body trembled as the bleeding creature collapsed into her arms.
lahsun. - the sun’s recurring birth / daylight |
---|
All around them, the field was covered in blankets of snow and beast corpses. Beyond the woodland trees, films of blue-pink light announced the eye of day. The sun was waking..
Only when its rays banished what few woodland beasts lurked, did she fall to her knees. Cold, melting snow soiled through her leg coverings. Deeper shivers found a place in her bones.
But in her arms, there was warmth. She held tightly the one who had slain the woodlanders and saved her by doing so. She shivered against their forgiving heat and felt their heart beat strongly against their ribs. As lahsun greeted both their skin, she felt something else, too—something very different from death or rei.
vinanan. - the cherished thing / fondness |
---|
Quoth gazed down at the unconscious being.
They were covered in woodlander blood, their eyelids shuttered to an almost close, revealing a bare trace of the milky whites underneath. Their breaths came and went with liveliness. There were no glaring wounds or signs of harm.
Fatigue?
She lifted her eyes to the field and the number of bodies strewn about. There had been too many of them for her to fend off. For any one being to fend off.
How had this creature proven otherwise? Why do this tiring thing?
To her surprise, she cradled their weight closer to her breasts and peered out through the naked trees.
The Village of Eknoa did not receive kindly the presence of outsiders, lesser even those not of wolven blood. There was no cloak of night to allow her to sneak the creature into her lodging without being seen. Even if there were, nothing would mask their otherly scent.
Could she not do as would be wise? It would be best to leave the being where she had found them and not bring trouble onto herself or Eknoa. It was not her task to protect this unconscious stranger, despite their having done so for her. Smarter was this reasoning when considering the truth: this creature had mauled a number of foe in which she could not and they were an outsider.
Strong and capable, seeming to have been traveling alone, surely they could survive if she rid herself of them someplace far from the Village. Wiser still would be if she then went on to inform the elders of this trespassing.
These were right thoughts. It was only natural to rid of threats. Wolves did not risk the safety of their pack. Wolves of Eknoa did not show favor towards things which lacked likeness. They did not consider their well-being.
Despite this, Quoth could barely rid of the strange sensation spreading throughout her body, making her feel lighter and lighter in the cold of winter. It was above gratitude, more confusing than fleeting wonderment. But mostly, it was very, very nice.
Winters ago, Boria once explained the Eknoan word vivanan. She said it was a powerful, passionate feeling of fondness Eknoan wolves developed towards certain things, places, other Eknoan wolves. Emotions that live only in the deepest, purest part of a wolf’s heart, surfacing in moments unforeseen, in ways unknown. For some, once, and for others, many times.
She’d also said that if ever a wolf should find vivanan, they would never let it go.
Vivanan...
Quoth could not bring herself to release the creature in her arms, any more than she could express why.
