Maybe there's a good reason why they haven't allowed this that I'm not thinking of, but..
I would rather roll the dice on a standard case at a reasonable cost than take the 1/9 chance on a good loadout after spending a shit-load of credits and components to craft a cobalt.
In the current crafting system, I don't think I'll ever craft a cobalt. It's just not worth it. But if I was just buying cases instead, there's a chance that I could end up with one eventually.
With the old loadout system if you had 6 gold cards that you didn't care too much about, it was a lot less of a risk to trade them in for a cobalt, since they're not doing you any good if you didn't like them. Even if the cobalt was shit, you didn't lose anything valuable (except the credits).
Has anyone calculated what the value of components is in credits? I'd be curious how many components it would take to buy a standard case if that option was implemented.
