Thinking on playing, but concerned by privacy issues on the anti cheat.

I was talking with a friend about the game (more like my friend was talking me into playing) and, while doing some small research, I saw that on june/july there was some accusations on the current anti cheat software scanning browsing history and filesystems.
I found only a post on this topic which ended on a useless conversation on privacy. So, I ask around there: What's the deal with the anti cheat software? What does scan and sends to nexon/whatever servers?
