When the plane crashed over the vast blue expanse of the ocean, I naturally assumed that our chances of survival were very low. My girlfriend, Zoe, was beside me and I held her hand as the plane shook. "It'll be okay, just hold on!" She was crying.

Then the plane hit the water and broke apart.

Somehow, a group of us survived the crash. What followed next I've forgotten due to adrenaline and perhaps injury. We put on life vests and used the floating debris to keep alive. Luckily for us, we weren't too far from land. The current pushed us close enough to an island and we managed to swim ashore.

A lot of the passengers were totally lost. I found a stream and brought them over to it so they could drink fresh water and regain some of their senses. It seemed to me like the island we found ourselves on was a bit of a tropical paradise. The sandy beach led to a jungle, there were coconut trees along the shore, and crabs on the beach. The irony that we spent time vacationing in a place very similar was not lost on me.

I started a fire and cracked a few coconuts to keep us going. First priority was my girlfriend. She was pregnant, though pretty early on. The vacation had been planned before we learned about it and it turned it into something of a "Baby Moon". My first priority was them and their needs, though I didn't mind helping the others. Most of the survivors were friends of my girlfriend who we took the trip with.

I was lucky to be in good shape. A sturdy, muscular build helped me swim to the island in the first place, pulling Zoe along, helped drag the wood from the jungle for the fire, and gave me the endurance to push through these hardships. I couldn't really expect my girlfriend or her friends to do that stuff.

I soon worked out how to do something very important - I figured out how to fish. Whatever I managed to spear or catch, the first share went to Zoe. There was some complaining, especially among the guys, but I told them if they wanted fish they could catch it themselves.

Zoe was feeling better quickly with the regular meals and the pregnancy seemed fine. With not much else to keep us busy we had sex or fooled around, not always careful to be private. In the quiet of night any moans or cry carried a good distance. Zoe was sometimes reckless, which I think may have excited her and moaned how big I was, or how I was filling her up. Fresh scratch marks on my back the next day told the tale if it wasn't obvious.

I had this concept in my mind for a group of survivors on a tropical island, and the peculiarities of their situation leads them to develop a strange sort of little society to deal with the problems they have encountered. One of the men proves more adept than the others at surviving in the new environment and providing for the others. The groups is mostly young women, and soon figure out they can win favour by aligning themselves with him.

This could go to an even more extreme point where there are boyfriends on the island and their girlfriends abandon them and end up pregnant by the alpha male too. The ability to provide and protect the women makes the alpha male the only one deserving of them and they go to him.

I wrote the male character as going along with it, but he could be more active in this process.
