Situated on the outskirts of the Empire's capital city, the estate that you're standing on now is enormous and well-kept. The lawns are carefully manicured, the paths painstakingly kept clear of dirt and other debris. Flowering bushes are everywhere, and a central fountain burbles in front of the house. You take a deep breath and find that the air is fresh and clean, in stark contrast to the myriad smells of the city. It's quiet here, save for the chirping of birds and the rustling of the trees in the soft breeze overhead. A guard barracks stands off to the side of the house, and the quarters for the slaves that work outdoors sits next to that. A high wall surrounds the estate, and guards patrol the perimeter; several of them have their watchful eyes on you, even though you arrived in a car belonging to the lord of this place.

The estate is impressive, but what really draws your eye is the house. You've seen houses before, but this.... To call it a mansion even feels inadequate. A dozen houses could fit in the space this one takes up, if not more. Pristine white walls make it practically gleam in the midday sun, and marble columns line the entry porch, where a set of low stairs leads up to the grand double doors. It is to these doors that the guards lead you, even as you cannot help but stare at the house that stands before you. Who could afford such a place?

But you know who. Lord Marcus Henrickson. The head of the Empire's Ruling Council, second in power and authority only to the Emperor himself. In fact, some whisper that he is the true power in the Empire, and the Emperor is only a figurehead. The Council supposedly exists to carry out the Emperor's will, but the truth is that it is rare indeed for the Emperor to issue a decree or policy initiative that was not crafted by the Council. Lord Henrickson keeps the Empire running and keeps it in its position of preeminence in the world. And since modern technology enables him to do much of his work from home, he remains surrounded by the trappings of power and the rewards his position brings him.

And that is the reason you are here. Like other powerful men in the Empire, Lord Henrickson keeps a harem. And you have been chosen to be the newest addition to it.

Opening the grand double doors, the guards lead you into the mansion's entry hall. Paintings line the walls, and a grand sculpture of a man with his hand stretched to the sky sits in the center of the large room. You are handed off to a beautiful young woman in a maid's uniform, who ushers you down a hall to the left and into a richly appointed parlor with satin couches and chairs. A flat screen hangs on one wall, and a silver sculpture of an eagle rests on a stand across from the window, no sign of tarnish anywhere on it. As you take in your surroundings, the maid leaves you, telling you that Lord Henrickson will arrive shortly.

You don't have to wait long. Lord Henrickson enters the room not long after the maid leaves. He's a tall man, with light brown hair, blue eyes, and in very good shape physically. He's in a white dress shirt and fine slacks. He carries a tablet, and as he steps into the room, he locks it and sets it on a table beside the door. He closes the door behind him and slowly walks over to stand in front of you, looking you over the entire time. When he stops in front of you, he meets your eyes and fixes you with a steady gaze.
