In real life, she's a quiet and nerdy young woman, with an unrewarding job and boring outfits and a haircut that doesn't really suit her. In Fantasy Star Heroes, the award-winning space dragon high fantasy virtual reality battle game mmorpg, she's a superstar. Playing since beta, she now commands allegiance of the rarest dragons, heads up one of the elite guilds, and designed her own planetary headquarters. She's on the players council, offering feedback and advice to the developers. She knows more lore and mechanics than most employees, has explored the furthest reaches of the in-game universe, and even has a monument to her. Stories of her exploits are added to her Wikipedia page at least monthly, usually once a week or more. Her in-game news articles are read and liked by millions.
She has friends and allies and enemies alike in plenty. People want to be her, people want to join her group, and sometimes she even mentors new players. Clearly someone so devoted to the game lacks much of an outside life and that criticism is true... She just doesn't do a lot beside think about her game at work, play her game during her free time, and get what sleep she can. The few dates she's been on have all ended poorly, unfortunately. The gulf between her real life and the virtual one almost couldn't be wider.
So that's my character, and her character. One of the most recognizable faces inside the game, and almost completely unrecognizable outside of it. And despite everything, perhaps because of everything, she's lonely. There's plenty of opportunity for somebody interesting and desirable to appear in her life. Perhaps an in-game rival who discovers the shy, awkward person behind the vr goggles, and wants to help her. Or a new player works her way into my characters good graces, and the newcomer somehow discovers my character's submissive side. Perhaps a dev takes an interest and starts blurring the professional lines. Or a coworker tries to lure my character away from her screens into the much less fun world... Or perhaps things get stunningly real when anime and light novel plots happen and everyone is trapped in the game. Of course my character would be in one of the best positions to help everyone escape, but
Lots of potential scenarios! I welcome the chance to world build with people!
I picture this as a pretty slow burn, romance story with plenty of opportunities for action and kink, potentially including the monster variety. It's a high tech fantasy world with few consequences after all.
Turn offs for this one include: Graphic or sexual violence, gore, nonconsent, scat, vomit.
