[Blainhint's prompt brought back very pleasant memories of a summer during my college years and I decided to use that summer exerience as an inspiration for a prompt. Hope you find it interesting.]
"I'm sorry, Bird, but it's the big show. You know he really wants you to come along. He's not just being polite. I want you to come too. It'll be fun."
My mother was not a very good liar. A man she had just met asked her to go in to the city for dinner and the big fireworks show over the harbor. We had planned to just go to the local show like we used to do as a family years ago, when my dad was still with us. Mom had just started dating again and she really liked this guy. The last thing she needed was her kid in tow during a first date.
"I'm sure it would be fun, Mom, but I really think you two should just go and have a great time. I sort of had my heart set on seeing the show at the school again. I haven't seen it since high school. And besides, maybe I'll run in to some of my old friends."
So that's how I ended up alone on the Fourth of July, lying on my back watching the stars appear as dusk advanced. The field wasn't all that big and the town was growing so I wasn't surprised when a blanket fell in place next to mine. There was a bit of a commotion though, and some laughing and noisy converstion, so I glanced over to see too many girls trying to fit on too small a blanket. One of them was Ginny.
"Hey, Ginny! You all can spread out a bit on to my blanket. I'm happy to share." She gave me an odd look and I thought she probably didn't remember me. She was my best friend's little sister and we had never said more than a few words to each other. She smiled and responded before I could introduce myself.
"Hey, Bird! Wow, I haven't seen you since you went off the the U." She flushed a bit and added "Actually graduation. I remember seeing you at graduation. So how's life at the U? You need to tell me all about it. I'm going this fall."
As Ginny moved over and joined me on my blanket, I took note of the changes in her in the last two years. She was a skinny tom boy type with dirty blond hair. No, not the color. Her hair was blond and it was usually dirty. There was nothing reminiscent of her tom boy days now. Her luxurious blond hair draped over her shoulders, her smile was warm and welcoming and her straight-as-a-board body had grown a very delightful set of curves.
I had propped up on one elbow to get a better look. "The U is fantastic. You'll love it. I remember you used to like your classes. Well, you are going to love the U! So many interesting courses taught by so many brilliant professors." It struck me I was falling into one of my long, drawn out responses and the things I was telling her might make her fall in love with the U, but not with me. So I changed direction and started in on the social opportunities, the chances to meet people and experience new things.
Ginny grinned at me and said in a low voice "Maybe we can get together over the summer and you can give me a head start experiencing some of those new things." I thought my head was going to explode. No, well yeah, that one too. I grinned back and gave her my suave, sophisticated college man look and said "Uh, sure!"
Ginny and I spent a lot of time together that summer and we got to know each other very well. Let's just say we made some very happy and special memories. Of course we talked about life at the U and planned out all kinds of great things we could do together.
[We did see each other a few times at school but then she went her way and I went mine. So up to here all this actually happened. But, what if we had stayed toghether ...]
Fall came around quickly and both Ginny and I were sorry to see the idyllic summer end but also very excited for classes to start. We were eager for the the vibrant intellectul life, and, also to experience some of those new things.
We packed up my car and said our goodbyes to our families. Ginny's mom gave me a big hug and thanked me in advance for watching over her baby at school. "I know you'll be such a good big brother to her, Bird. Too bad Tommy ended up at State, but that wrestling scholarship was just too good to pass up." I wondered if that was a veiled threat. Tommy was just an inch taller than I but wrestled in the top weight class. Ginny's dad just rolled his eyes. He took my hand to shake it and led me toward the car as he said in a low voice "Hey Bird, if she get's to struggling or anything let her old pop know, would ya? He grinned at me and added "And, keep showin' her a good time, ok?" I assured him I would and started to go on about all the lectures and concerts and such. His grin said "Yeah, sure."
We hopped in the car and just four long hours later we pulled up at Ginny's dorm and started unloading.
"This is the last load, Gin. Then I should get out of here and let you get settled in with your new roommates, meet your RA, all that first day in the dorm stuff." You make a face and sigh. "I know freshmen have to live in dorms, officially anyway, but can I sort of hang at your place most of the time, Bird?" I grin and say "A good part of the time. But freshman dorm life is a big part of orientation and getting adjusted. It's one of those new experiences I told you about, so enjoy it. Oh, and remember I'm Rich here. Drop the Bird thing, OK?" You nod and I pull you in for a kiss "I'll see you tomorrow. I'll show you my place and maybe we can hang out." You brighten when you feel my hand on your ass and nod.
As I turn to leave I say "See you tomorrow. Love ya!"
[Are you interested in developing the story of Rich and Ginny at the U? Looking for a long term RP that is very much a collaborative story writing experience. Very flexible on kinks. We can do straight vanilla, very kinky or something in between.]
