Hello, I just wanted to spread awareness about blackmail, since this issue is a way bigger problem then people seem to realize.

1. Never show ur face. 2. Never give ur IG or any social media where you have followers.

Here's how lots of scams work- they start by asking for ur social media (where you have followers) such as IG or FB. They will then screenshot ur followers names, and get you to send nudes (ether on IG or snap). Then they say if u don't pay them, they are gonna leak ur nudes to ur followers.

More advanced scammers use face recognition software as you are exchanging nudes. A clear face pic is all they often need to find you on social media platforms, where they may screen shot ur followers and ask you to pay.

Don't believe me about the software? Google pimeyes and Yandex, this is the face detection software where scammers can find you on your social media just by doing a face search.

BE AWARE OF ADVANCED SCAMS-
Some scammers will even pretend to cam for you, but are often just a video playing, and not actually live although they appear to be live. More advanced scammers even have cute girls cam with u just so you think they are real, in hopes to get to see ur body nude with ur face. And some record the entire session over multiple days to get u to be comfortable and can pull screenshots of ur face and locate your identity that way, without even asking for it. Then u think ur sexting a cute girl because u seen her live on cam but u don’t realize she’s working with the scammer even tho she goes nude for u.

THIS IS SOME SCAMMERS FULL TIME JOB- there goal is to get as much money from you in the quickest amount of time. They often use scare tactics to get you scared as possible just in hopes that you pay.

IF THIS EVER HAPPENDS TO YOU- 1. DO NOT REPLY. 2. INSTANT BLOCK. 3. PUT SOCIAL MEDIA ON PRIVATE OR DELETE IT. Also you may want to put ALL social media on private incase they find you on multiple platforms.

THE MORE YOU TALK TO THEM, THE MORE THEY ARE GOING TO THREATEN AND BULLY YOU. Never send payment because they will ALWAYS ask for more after. They will also know ur scared if you negotiate with them about sending payment, so the threats will come harder, after you spend more time talking or negotiating. Some may even send screen shots of ur nudes right next to ur followers list, showing you that with a click of a button they can destroy your life. BUT THERE GOAL IS NOT TO DESTROY YOUR LIFE! THERE GOAL IS TO GET AS MUCH MONEY POSIBLE, IN THE FASTEST TIME POSIBLE. If they know they can not communicate with you (aka you blocking them), they will just move on to the next victim (unfortunately)

If they leak your nudes after you block, that is not going to benefit the scammer at all (financially). Posting your nudes just raises the chances of them getting caught because it creates digital evidence of the sextortion (which is a crime). So most of the time, they will just leak your nudes as a last resort (if you get them angry by taking up there time and trying to negotiate with them).

DO NOT POST MESSAGES FROM UR REDDIT ACCOUNT IF U WAS HACKED because the scammer will see your message history that you are scared. Also, DONT PAY ANYONE or any SERVICE that claims they can help. JUST BLOCK AND IGNORE AND THEY WILL GO AWAY,
