Why is Sion so damned strong?

Okay, so I'm an Ornn player and I was looking through the matchup chart for top lane. And everywhere I looked Sion was hard winning matchups. It didn't matter what ELO I looked. He basically always had a godlike matchup spread, even beating some characters with OP MU charts like Cho'Gath.
So I gotta ask. WTF?
- What change to the game made Sion so strong?
- What distinction between Sion vs other Tanks like Ornn is giving him so much better a spread?
Is it just that health stacking is OP? Wtf?
