I never thought I'd be that guy. Single at 40. Never married. Scrounging my contacts list on a Friday night for friends who can maybe escape their spouse to shoot pool for an hour or two or maybe spend a sunny Saturday having a few beers before having to run back to their family and explain where they've been.
So I've started finding new places to go. And I gotta be honest: It was a weird experience being an older guy in a sea of twenty-somethings at the local bar. I felt so unbelievably out of place. Like everyone was giving me the side-eye. Giving me the "go back to bed, grandpa" look. So imagine my surprise when a cute, blonde grad student came up to me and said she needed a partner to play pool against her friend and her boyfriend.
After a few games, a few rounds, and some flirtatious banter, I had to laugh when she asked if I was heading to the after-hours club.
"It's two in the morning and I'm about a decade too old for that."
"Too old? What are you? 30? 32?"
And I will never forget the look in her eyes when I replied with, "I hate to break it to you, but I'm 40."
She looked like I'd just given her the winning lottery numbers and said, "I'm going to need your phone number."
I can safely say that I get it now. I get the appeal. The power dynamic. The way she blushes when you compliment her. The wry smile on her face when you don't hesitate to send her some money to keep her nails looking good for you. The flabbergasted look in her eyes when she finally finishes riding your face through her third orgasm. Hearing her brag about a guy who "knows what the fuck he's doing" to her friends when we run into them for drinks.
Then there's the flip side of the coin. The looks from strangers. The questions from friends who can't figure out why I'm not a happy family man because I'm "prime Dad material". The looks of disgust from women closer to my own age who lost another one to Gen Z. The super close friends who worry I'm being taken advantage of for my money and can't comprehend that I'm perfectly happy spending on a girl who actually loves looking good for me.
Sure, it didn't last. I can only pretend to enjoy the non-stop stream of TikTok videos for so long. My days of going to 2AM four or five nights a week are far, far behind me. But it's definitely awoken something inside of me that I'm very eager to explore more.
Looking to talk about age gaps with someone (obviously). Can approach it from whatever angle resonates with you but being of legal age is a non-negotiable. Hoping to have some interesting conversations about what parts you enjoy, what parts are difficult, what things are missing, etc.
I have an extremely varied list of kinks that can be found here: https://imgur.com/qHMG8rz
