I could really reject a very specific dinner invitation from my boss could i? I’ve worked this hard to get to my position, if i had to put up with the jerk for an evening I’d do it.
But when i got there bottle of wine in hand it was just him, his wife, and me. And questions about when others would be arriving were met with looks of confusion. At least i could enjoy the sight of the curvy wife in a dress that looked a size or two too small.
Well that, and they kept my wine glass full.
