You were my father’s younger brother. You were always known to be the free spirit in the family. You lived far away in a different town than the rest of the extended family. You were still unmarried and single, and were known to have a complicated history in that regard. Also, you mostly kept to yourself and rarely interacted with the family.

I had recently graduated college, and as chance would have it, landed a job in the city where you lived. My father calls in a favour that you have owed him for a while, and requests you to let me stay with you while I get on my feet in the new time. As you were presented with this, you were initially reluctant as you enjoyed your life alone and didn’t want any interference. But here you couldn’t say no, so you take me in.

As we both start living together, I see your lifestyle is still that of a mid-20s something bachelor. I take up the responsibility of the household, and also of you, really coming into my own in this role. On a personal level, the two of us start to connect more and more as well, and as time passed, what we thought was a budding friendship transformed into a passionate romance.

From there, we navigate the seriousness of our own feelings, the drama of the family, and acceptance of the society, as we start planning out the sustenance of our relationship.
