This week was supposed to be the biggest week in my early career. For the most part it really was. I had just signed on to one of the best sports management companies in the country and was on my first business trip. Of course with a signing bonus, an open tab for new suits and first class tickets for every flight I take I was feeling like the weekend could not possibly be ruined. That was until, I had flown half way across the country only for my last flight to be cancelled due to weather in Orlando. So there I was stuck in an airport with no where to go but to just wait it out.
I decided to make the most of hand I was dealt and check out the first class lounge. I had never before had access to it, but as a new young agent, from a small town, I was eager to experience all that I could now that I had made it. So dressed in my fancy new suit I proudly handed my ticket to the agent at the desk before entering the lounge. As I walked in I took in the scenes, everyone seemed to be kept to themselves, AirPods in locked into their phones or laptops. Less than exciting compared to what I had envisioned. I kept scanning until I saw her, there she was sitting at the bar as a bartender slid her drink to her. She was captivating, I was instantly drawn towards her. I worked up the courage to sit close to her a few seats over, ordered a pint and hoped to hell she would say something to me….
