I left my hometown to go to college, leaving behind the person who was my best friend in the world to pursue the rat race of higher education and career. She had been thick as thieves for years, talking nearly every day and everything, but in our friendship, trust and respect came first. Any sense of attraction came second--an icing on the cake.
But we never held hands, kissed, touched each other sexually, saw each other undressed--none of that. And now that she's married with kids only a few years later, I regret it. I'm sure I would have gone to college eventually and all, but I wish I could have taken a gap year and asked her out and fucked her every day that year. The attraction was there, and I missed out just because I didn't want to ruin my friendship by making her a girlfriend to eventually breakup with.
