I look both ways as I enter the old vinyl shop. And I don’t know why I always feel the need to check. It’s not like I’ve ever known anyone on this side of town anyway. Not really.
It’s late, and a gentle drizzle seems to be keeping people inside, cause the sidewalk is empty. I walk inside, and nod to the man behind the register. He nods back. Part of me starts to wonder if I’m coming here too much. Is it bad to be recognized these kinds of places?
Maybe I’ll start looking for another place to go, but that’s an issue for another day. For now, I walk back to the bathroom in the back. I lock the door behind me with a click, double checking to make sure I won’t be walked in on.
On the wall next to the sink a few pieces of worn out duct tape cover the hole drilled in the wall years ago. I unzip my pants, getting in position, no idea who’s on the other side.
