I have always been fascinated by the interaction of strangers that happens in public transportation - particularly on flights. Below is the starting point for a prompt which could be taken further as a role play or simply a discussion. In full transparency this is somewhat based on IRL experiences I have had that I am more than happy to discuss.

You noticed me in the boarding area of our flight. We made eye contact once or twice…and was that a twinkle in my eye or the hint of a smile? That said, you weren’t excited about where you were sitting - a middle seat towards the back of the plane, and were honestly more preoccupied with other things to think anything of what could have been some moderate flirtation from a random stranger.

You didn’t think anything more of it until you were finding your seat - and it happened to be next to mine. As they shut the boarding door we both noticed that the aisle seat was still open but for some reason you didn’t slide over. It’s not a short flight - west coast to east coast and as it is already dark they dim the cabin lights soon after takeoff.

Our knees edge closer to each other and you feel my foot bump up against yours - it could have been accidental but then I haven’t moved it and neither have you.
