Cleaning plastics prior to graphics/number plate installation

I’m putting number plates on my son’s bike. It is freshly washed with a heavy coat of SC1 wax on the plastics.
What is the best thing to use to clean the plastics and get rid of the SC1 before I install.
I was thinking alcohol wipes but want to hear what you recommend.
