An election is being held for vacant position(s) on the Moderation.
Charter
Article 13 of the Charter states that:
[Irrelevant sub-article omitted.]
Once the period of—
a. if there is a casual vacancy—2 days; or
b. otherwise—7 days;after the candidacy thread was posted has elapsed, the Moderation must post a thread on the subreddit for members, through their voting delegates, to cast their ballot (the voting thread).
A ballot must contain a list of all candidates the voter wishes to vote for.
Note—
This is intended to be an implementation of approval voting. After the voting thread has been posted for a period of 2 days, the Moderation must count the ballots and declare the candidates with the highest number of votes as the winners for each of the vacant positions.
If this article applies to a casual vacancy, the electee shall serve the remainder of the term of the previous moderator.
Candidates
Following the candidacy period, the following persons are standing for election as a moderator of the Forum for International Diplomacy:
- u/Ahrimanazu Ahri
- u/Gjum Gjum
- u/j4mietech blondeskinnyrichbitch
- u/morsden67 SpecificLanguage
- u/one-derful Onederful
- u/orange-wizard TheOrangeWizard
How to vote
In a top-level comment, list the names of all candidates that you approve as a moderator. You can list one name or all names.
The order of the names is not important. Your votes will not be afforded any preference. This means that all your votes have equal weight — one vote will be given to each candidate that you list.
Note that only voting delegates may vote in the election.
What happens next
After two days, the Interim Moderation will count the ballots and declare the candidate(s) with the highest number of votes as the new moderator(s).
Note: For this first election, the Interim Moderators may decide to declare the new moderators earlier in case all ballots have been cast before the deadline of two days.
If there is a tie between candidate(s), a run-off vote will be held to determine the tie.
These summary explanations are guidelines only. They are not an official interpretation of the rules. In the case of any inconsistency between this explanation and the rules, the rules will prevail.
