I set up some FB ads to run this month with the goal of brand awareness. (I'm doing a two-step approach: 1-brand awareness to build an interested audience, and then 2-sales goal to try to get that interested audience to convert.) As I was configuring the ads, I noticed that the audience configuration didn't work the way I wanted it to.
Even though the goal for this first ad is to reach as many people as possible, I thought I'd include my current audience (followers, prior interactions) also. So I told it to use my current audience and then also target by interest keywords in my market niche. Instead of adding those two together for larger reach, it targeted the keywords against ONLY my current audience for a dinky reach.
Of course I removed the current audience from the targeting criteria so that I have good reach. But is there a way to make it do what I wanted? Which was to target my current audience AND ALSO all FB users with my keyword interests?
