This month I'm running a Google ad and it seems to be doing okay. I check it every day, looking at both the ad report in the ad manager site and also checking Google Analytics. My business is clearly up (actually starting last month when I was advertising on Facebook), but I haven't been able to attribute any purchases directly to the campaigns. I do make lots of sales where Shopify tells me they came from Google.
So this current ad campaign, is bringing me lots of good traffic. But I can't tell if I set it up to do retargeting or not, and when I configure next month's ad I want to make sure I do retargeting. I think I'm confused on this because they've changed the terminology. One online blog I found said that they call it remarketing instead of retargeting. I can't find either term in the Google Ads configuration pages. And yesterday I got an email from Google Ads saying that they're changing the "audiences" to "custom intent audiences". Are they making this clear as mud on purpose?
Okay, so the real question is can anyone here tell me how to set up retargeting in Google Ads?
