Hello! I started drawing back in 2020 and I think, that I am overall making progress. Better anatomy, line art etc, but I feel like something is wrong with my shading, light and (how I call it) post-processing. I feel like my art is bland. It lacks the extra pop, when I complete the drawing. I like most of my pieces, when they are flats, but when I finish shading it, I feel like I lost something in the piece, that made me want to complete it in the first place.
The best example is a recent piece, that you can see here - https://www.deviantart.com/heedil/art/Star-912108050
Another one is this piece here - https://www.deviantart.com/heedil/art/Gerna-909212641
I always have hard and soft shading, usually with some purple shade in it. Lightning is done either by deleting shades in some places and by light layer on top of the piece. I smudge light and some hard shading to smooth it out.
I dislike how my post-processing looks on the pieces with the line art and I don't know how to fix it. I feel like my line art is too thick, but I can't find myself without it on the piece (my work is chaotic). I can provide some information, if needed. I would love to hear some advices, maybe some tutorials for shading. Thank you in advance, and sorry if I forgot something in my description.
