Newbie here- help with upgrade the Double Typhoon deck!

So I managed to get 2x Double Typhoon decks and these are my first decks (I've been using a friend's and loved the game).
I was wondering how to play the deck, if I really need both decks (my friend told me that the last Advanced Starter(?) was a nearly complete deck and you didn't really need 2) and what cards from the current expansions would help.
There's so much info- help!
