Any tips for building my first deck?

Post Body

I recently jumped in a few weeks ago with 2 Dragon of Courage starters, 2 Wolf of Friendship starters, and 3 Beelzemon advanced decks. I'd like to know if there are any ways to make any of those decks better, or if I should try to, with the multiple copies I own, or if they would benefit more from other sets, firstly.

But I'd also like to build my own deck as well, probably starting out with something like red, since it seems fairly straightforward and damage/offense oriented.

I've picked up several Blast Ace booster boxes, and have a complete playset of pretty much every card that BT-14 has to offer, and that's mostly what I have, along with a few odds and ends from other sets, the training cards, various memory boosts, etc.

Are there any good tips for building my first personal deck? Is it viable to build a red deck mostly off of BT-14? Should I grab any other sets as well?

What sort of ratios should I expect as a general guideline for deck building?
