Okay, so I've heard numerous criticisms of the idea of dieting by avoiding solid foods. The main theme seems to be that it will inevitably lead to deficiency in some vitamin or mineral or some other nutrient. My question is whether this can be compensated for by consuming nutritional supplements to obtain what would be missed.
The reason shifting to the exclusive or primary consumption of fluids for all meals appeals to me is twofold. First and foremost I have no time or energy to cook and eat "real food". I eat prepackaged and processed s#1 because it's easy, especially when I'm always on the run and only feeding one person. The second reason is that I find myself drinking for sensory reasons. I'm always doing something with my mouth like talking or sucking on hard candy or drinking from a straw, so doing that in a way that benefits my dieting would be a bonus.
Does this sound even remotely doable?
