Looking to get a truck that could possibly last forever aka really long time. I understand that the 12v Cummins is kinda the bar for lasting diesel engines but without swapping it into anything it only comes in dodge. My big issue is I'm needing the largest cab truck I can find within my price range, which is around 20,000. Their is a 1996 crew cab close to me for sale 12000 OBO. My question is, does r/Diesel think that's a good truck engine, being as it's big and that's what I need? I would love great gas milage and towing power but with the kiddos I just need a huge cab.
