Hey all!
Mained Fizz for years, but recently started playing Diana more and more due to loving her kit (I played her on release and loved her, not sure why I stopped), and also because I realized I was gimping myself from learning the overall game with Fizz's kit, because you basically don't have to worry about the jungler.
Snowballing on Diana (mid, I don't jungle, at least not very well) feels really good, but it's given me a tendency to be aggro in lane. This gets punished by junglers who either camp me or are watching for my aggression and punish it. Had a particularly frustrating game where literally any time I stepped beyond turret range and tried to harass the enemy Galio, his Lee Sin pocket pick (it was a 5-man premade in flex) was right there, and I'm not joking - EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
I was duo with a friend over the phone and said "watch, Lee Sin is nowhere to be found, he hasn't been mid in a minute because I'm terrified of him. I'm gonna step out of position and engage on this Galio, and he'll be RIGHT there." Sure enough, about 2 seconds after I engaged, Lee was there with a full combo saved just for me.
I guess my question here is - how do you guys handle this? I tried roaming and he was still right there, waiting in my bushes, or coming off of blue. He was just a fantastic jungler and hard-carried the team to victory. Do I just content myself with farming and sitting at turret? It's a struggle to do that because:
A) It's boring. Like. Really boring. This shouldn't be a point, but it is. Boredom makes people do stupid things.
B) It gimps Diana because she needs to get to 2-3 items to really feel powerful for the late game, and it delays that.
A second part of the question is - how do YOU play the lane phase? If you don't have jungler vision, do you just play back, or do you make risky plays to secure kills?
