First and foremast I know nothing about jewelry.

When we went to Disney and were walking around one of the jewelry stores on vacation... We looked at a pair of earrings, but got bad vibes from the salesman. He was very pushy etc.
But I'd love to purchase a nice set of earrings for her. My budget is up to $2,500 for the earrings.

I think when she tried something on it was 1 carat.

I know NOTHING about where to look, what to look at , look for, and I'm kind of overwhelmed. Wondering if anyone has any recommendations on what to look for or could help?

From searching previous posts, I found some people sacrifice clarity for a bigger size, because you can't really see the difference etc. That's where I got overwhelmed lol.
