I'm 30F, non-smoker. Since late December/early Jan my right tonsil has been a little swollen and sore. It might look very swollen in the picture but I have larger than average tonsils so it's really only a little swollen.
My main worry about it is the unusual orange patch. It's difficult to see in the picture due to light/colour but it's orange (I know it just looks red in the picture, it's the best I could do) and definitely has not always been there. It's a different teture to the rest of my tonsil. Any idea what it is?
There is pain but it's difficult to describe and definitely not bad. Around late Jan it got quite bad and I had to take painkillers a few night in order to sleep but I started gargling mouthwash and it was much better for a week or so but has started bothering me again. It's more of an awareness than a pain. It is worse in the evening though.
The only medication I take is anti-histamines for a dust allergy.
