Apologies for the poor quality photo. I am 25 years old male in UK.
My tonsils have been swollen for over a year, I notice they are slightly asymmetrical also. No white patches or tonsil stones that I can find. To begin with it felt very uncomfortable in my throat and was obstructive with general cold/flu symptoms but I have since grown used to this feeling and itβs painless.
I struggle with poor sleep and general fatigue/muscle aches/joint pain. My lifestyle is now generally healthy with my diet/exercise and vitamin supplements.
I have had Covid 4 times over the years, all varying levels of severity.
I was previously on 150mg sertraline for 3 years and I am currently on 75mg venlafaxine.
I have previously struggled with substance abuse, primarily alcohol/weed/cocaine. I am concerned that the cocaine has influenced this somehow.
I have recently had a blood test that came back clear and an ECG (for a separate issue) that showed some minor arrhythmia. I am wondering if my chronically swollen tonsils could have caused obstructive sleep apnoea resulting in my general fatigue and arrhythmia?
I have a 24 hour ECG booked in for May that I hope will provide more detail for this.
Any thoughts or similar experiences are welcome, thanks.
