legs losing function
Post Body

hi all, hope someone on here can help me! about 4.5 years ago (18) i became very sick. the first symptoms were all flu-like so i thought nothing of it, but for the next six weeks my legs began to stop functioning. i would get this very deep pain in both of my legs and every step felt like i was carrying huge weights around my ankles. it became so painful that i was bed-bound for 4 weeks, and i walked very funny (described as cowboy like) for the next 6-8 weeks before all my symptoms randomly disappeared. i couldn't even walk to the bathroom and had to have constant assistance to getting me what i needed. i should have gone to the doctor but i was 18 and on my own with no insurance. it happened again at 20 after i had taken a trip to paris, not to the same extent but that same feeling in my legs stayed for about 2 weeks. during the second time i was at work where i became extremely pale and had to have someone walk me back to my car because my legs literally couldn't support the rest of my body. my PCP is crappy and doesn't seem to care too much since my lab results came back normal but i am very worried that this could happen to me again. i still deal with minor leg pain after working sometimes (barista so i am always on my feet) and while it is manageable, i know it is not normal. just for some background info i am 22 (born female, trans man and not on HRT), overall healthy but was constantly sick as a child, got diagnosed with a mild heart murmur and asthma. any advice would be much appreciated. thank you!
