With the latest patch, Wizards have become a powerhouse class. Wizards are currently tied for #2 on overall GRift level (with WD), behind DH. Wizard t6 Rift clearing speed using Firebird and Blizzard-Apocalypse is unparalleled now, even making Jade WDs look like slowpokes. There's also lots of great elemental synergy with the shuffling of some spell runes to different elements (Lightning and Cold are probably the strongest they've ever been) and there's almost a mind-boggling amount of t6/GR25 viable builds now.
I'm feeling pretty good about Wizards atm! What are your guys' thoughts so far?
