Hey all, I've been watching some Crusader videos from various streamers to try to get an idea of if I'll like it.. I'm trying to get a good idea of what the class is like -- I see that you can get a horse, and you have some abilities that are both single target, others AOE, etc.
I can't seem to get a good idea of whether I'll like it or not before playing it... can anyone advise based on my playstyle (below)?
My playstyle is usually really positional. I like abilities that are affected by your character movement or positioning. I also like midrange-ey abilities, not point blank or long range, though there are exceptions. Also, I hate long CDs. Here are some classes I've liked playing -- D3, Demon Hunter w/bolas and spammable hatred dumps was by far my favorite class (though I never played WD or Barb, but I hated the wizard and wasn't a huge fan of the monk). In D2, WW barb, Molten Boulder Druid, Hammerdin, were quite enjoyable. In POE, Ground Slam Marauder and Spectral Throw Cast on Crit were some of my favorite builds.
The thing I've noticed the classes/builds I've liked have in common is that they are very positional. My favorites are often midrangeish, because they reward maintaining the correct amount of spacing / zoning between you and targets to optimize damage output and survivability. Also, they don't rely on abilities with giant CDs since I don't like those. And I don't tend to like classes that have to stand completely still in order to do things, since they negate the positional aspect. I also like abilities that animation cancel or animation chain. I think I liked the Demon Hunter a lot on release because her animations could cancel and chain really fluidly, for example you could do half the animation for a big attack, the attack procs, and then you could animation cancel out of the attack with another ability.
I heard the crusader was very "midrange", and since I like "midrange" in general, does that sound like it could be a fit based on what I described above? And/or what are some good resources to find out what a high level crusader's skills are like (been watching various streams, but can't get a strong picture).
