I'm started another rewatch. I just finished season 1 again. I have questions about Harry.

Did Harry basically brainwash Dexter into becoming a serial killer. The foundation was there, with dexter watching his mom die. Did Harry try to seek counseling? It seems like Harry just told Dexter was he going to be a killer and then trained him to be as efficient as possible. Until Rudy/Brian told Dexter didn't even remember. Like Cody not remembering how Paul abused Rita. So did Harry brainwash little Dexter into becoming what Harry wanted him to be?
