How not to get robbed/How to protect your resources and time spent on Devoted, a poorly written beginners guide.
Post Body

I'm making this post due to always seeing people talking about how they lose everything overnight or how their cities get blown up cough Solaris cough Sorry for poor formatting and flow, i'm trying to learn to use the Reddit formatting since i've never used it until now. Edit: I fucked up the formatting.

Reinforcing your builds: So to start things off you should always stone reinforce everything you build, this is kind of common knowledge but it's something that seems to fly over a lot of peoples peoples heads due to things like "Oh it's something quick to repair" or "I don't care that much about it" IT MATTERS, if that building gets griefed and it doesn't get repaired that building itself becomes a ugly shithole if not repaired (Otherwise known as grief, thus making even more grief to clean up later if it's not repaired) so why not prevent the griefing in the first place? Don't do that "I'll reinforce after I build" thing that everyone always says and they never do. A griefer/most raiders will take anything of remote value that isn't nailed down, this includes Glowstone and other "rare" blocks so please reinforce, it's to protect yourself as well as prevent the gearing of raiders.

How to store wealth: So those of you with wealth whether it be a stack of diamond blocks or 10 iron ingots must be thinking "How do I prevent getting raided, how do I not end up being the next guy that loses all material wealth overnight" and the answer is yet another simple one that every one playing civ servers has heard at least once: Dropchests. But how do you choose a good location for a Dropchest? I personally think it's best to put a dropchest at stone level at the bottom of a shallow lake, not a few blocks under the dirt as to prevent xray but to do it at stone level right below the first layer of dirt up from stone most people will NEVER mine there and you don't need to worry about waiting for grass to regrow on the dirt above your dropchest. When placing dropchests always reinforce them with a strong material, because as always someone is less likely to break a diamond chest than they are a stone. Never place a dropchest in the sand of a desert due to sand mining.

Another way if you're for whatever reason against dropchests are: ChestVaults chest vaults can vary in design and shapes due to it not really mattering, just place a shit ton of chests with a reinforcement of your choosing at bedrock. If you are to choose this route and are using a chest vault I recommend 9 stacks of chests, seems a bit excessive right? Well it is, and that's exactly why a raider usually wont bother with it. You can also make a bunker which acts as a chest vault if you make it big enough. (As always, it's better to reinforce with anything above stone due to stone being extremely easy to break when it comes to chests)

Storing your diamonds: (This part is for more of wealthy players than anything, most of it common knowledge to those who are wealthy due to high playtime)

So this ties in with wealth but you can do a multitude of things with your diamonds in both gear and security. If you have excess diamonds that are just sitting in a chest that you have no use for why not reinforce some chests with them? If you get raided it'd save the grief of knowing the diamonds went to waste due to your hording of them. Even if you already have a lot of chests placed placing more really pisses raiders off, you can even make a "joke house" filled with double diamond reinforced chests and use it as spare storage. I personally (If I have diamonds) only keep half a stack of diamond blocks raw due to being cautious about getting raided. I understand there's now only at 80% chance of getting your diamonds back from reinforcements but it's still better than allowing a raider to take all your shit if they get lucky when they pop a chest, especially if you don't intend to change location anytime soon.
