Hey. I've been a long time fan of the series but have remained simply a spectator of ppl who post dmc content online (huge fan of donguri, chasertech.) I have the complete collection on ps4 save for dmc 5 (saving up to buy myself a copy) and I've beat 1 and 3 both on Hard mode but albeit, rather sloppily (I just string together simple and really not-so-stylish combos and die a few times.) Currently on my first playthrough of DMC4SE. My question is, how the fuck do you get good at this series?
I know the bloody palace practice mode is only a mod for PC users so I'm kinda shit outta luck there. I've tried watching Chasertech's tutorials, but they don't seem to be clicking for me. So me thinks that maybe I'm jumping the gun? The tutorials Chase makes seem to be rather advanced, I can't even understand most of the stuff he's teaching and it's frustrating me to no end. So, where should I actually start? What should I aim to practice first? How should I hold my controller and why is it claw grip(lol)?
I'm not bad at the games by any means, I don't ever use items, and I don't just barely scrape by on each mission but– I wanna be able to pull all the crazy stylish shit advanced players are able to pull instead of doing boring old basic combos! So far, the coolest thing I'm able to do is use table hopper (i have no issue getting the timing down thankfully) but that's about it.
The answer will probably be git gud but: How do I git gud? What do I need to practice first? A push in the right direction would really be appreciated, I love this franchise, I'm just too scrubby atm to fully appreciate it. Thanks, guys!
Maybe I'll be on the same level as donguri in a decade's time lmaoo
