Is Devil May Cry pulp inspired?

I recently learnt that Berserk was inspired by many things including Conan and Claymore was inspired by European Swords n sorcery. It got me thinking, is Devil May Cry also pulp inspired in its story telling? Thoughts?
Note: I think pulp is really cool, so I don’t mean this question in a negative context.
