So I clicked on this octopus thrower dot com website once again because of a good title saying we should have gotten a goalie. Firstly, I disagree. Secondly, why. And to even suggest that we are at the buying stage in our rebuild is ridiculous. Players have no move clauses for a reason. Nobody of value would remove a clause to play for detroit. And the suggestion of signing Fleury in the off-season is ridiculous.
That being said I should have a counter right? Ok. I think we did what we could. We didn't trade anyone of value besides maybe Leddy. And we got pretty much what you would expect for a second line maybe third line on a playoff team. We still need picks. If we sign this off-season sure sign a big player. But for no longer than 3 years and hopefully a center. But realistically most won't come here yet so we need to get more skill and keep in mind we will have 3 players knocking at the door to get in to the lineup that are currently playing in Sweden or NCAA. Draft draft draft another 2 years. Then we should be ready to make the playoffs in 2024.
