With no NHL teams here in the state was trying to decide between the Blackhawks, Wild, and the Redwings. I figured it would be easier to root for a team I could actually see in person easier than a team from Canada or the Coasts.
For the Blackhawks, itβs hard for me to root for any team in Chicago (no hate blame Bears/Packers rivalry). As for the Wild, they seemed like a good/fun team but idk there was something missing.
Then I started reading on the Redwings. The history of Joe Lewis arena. Being one of those original teams in the NHL. The fan base traditions. Plus, rooting for the underdog makes when they win the cup that much sweeter.
All I can say is go Wings and happy to be here!!
