A thought I just had while scrolling through this Reddit was how Tina was never suspected as the mastermind of The Prank. And while that's because there was no evidence suggesting that she did it (and because she's the main character's love interest), in hindsight I find it disappointing that the twist wasn't leading to her.
Of course, Tina was never going to be the mastermind even if there πΈπ’π΄ evidence pointing to her- most of the evidence Lee found was just one red herring after another. But Tina was a good candidate. She didn't really have much screentime before the second half of season two, and she had at least two motives for wanting to prank the entire school.
The first motive might have been to get revenge on everyone who had ever bullied her, namely The Glamazoms and other popular cliques. Though, I don't know if Tina was always bullied, or if she was ever even bullied to the point where she'd want to pull off a prank like that.
The second motive could have been to prove that she was smart enough to pull it off, as Chaz mentions in 'The Mastermind' that she's the only one in her family who isn't gifted.
Maybe it's for the best that Tina wasn't the mastermind- I can't think of a non-anticlimactic way to resolve the series if that had been the big reveal. I just think Tina has so much more potential as a character than what we've seen. She's a strong female character for sure, but everytime I watch Detentionaire I can't help but feel like there's more that could have been done with her character...
