Not only do we have a lore book that is tied to her, but there is in fact circumstantial evidence that she is alive. In the Misraaks Lore entry, Misraaks has a moment where he would rather have his own mother dock all of his limbs, and kill him by starving him of ether (Which by the way, is very telling of how cruel she came to be.), but the juicy bit is actually in a line of words:

"As he pitches himself off the edge, he thinks of his mother's shame and prays that she forgets him. Better that she never had a son than a weakling so easily captured by the enemy."

You don't want someone who's already dead to forget you.

I think it stands to reason that the most organized crew would have an equally ruthless captain. This also makes what spider said about someone else who know Misraaks' past. His mother would definitely know their family history, and he is most definitely more concerned with Eido his mother than the possibility of asking Eramis.
