What's your preferred infusion strategy?

Hello fellow Guardians, I'm curious to know what everybody's favorite strategies are. Whether you try for big jumps in light or infuse smaller steps, or if you never infuse at all and just junk obsolete armor. I personally found some legendaries I really like, so I've been infusing them little by little as my light creeps up.
