I see people posting a lot about how "everyone agreed" on using TK over TTK to refer to The Taken King. And yes, the post suggesting that did hit the top of the front page when it was posted. But we all need to remember just how little that means.
Right now, that post is sitting around 1975 total score, with 75% upvoteed. That means around 2630 people upvoted it, and about 655 downvoted. A grand total of 3385 votes (give or take).
3385 votes is less than 2% of this subreddit's subscriptions. Just over 1% agreed to use TK over TTK.
Now, don't get me wrong, vote counts can generally get a decent idea of the overall leanings of the community. But just as often, it can be skewed heavily because a group of people is very passionate about a topic while the vast majority doesn't care enough to vote one way or another.
And this goes for everything on the subreddit, not just TK vs TTK. So the next time you want to talk about an agreement on the sub, keep the context in mind.
