Many of my theories lately have covered The Veil and its purpose. However, I have done extensive research into the lore and in game dialogue and I want to share with you all of my discoveries and understandings about The Traveler, The Veil, The CloudArk, The Black Heart, and The Witness.

What happened to The Traveler? What is The Veil? What is the CloudArk? What is The Black Heart? And where has The Witness gone?

Within the story of Lightfall it is revealed that The Veil is a darkness artifact linked to The Traveler. It is also revealed that The Veil is the source of power for Neomuna and its discovery led to the creation of the CloudArk.

Many have quoted “the line between light and dark is so very thin” as a explanation for The Veil. Saying the veil separates the two. But it doesn’t. We exist in a universe where physical and metaphysical exist as one. Physical beings with a metaphysical consciousness. The light empowers the physical, While the darkness empowers the metaphysical. The Veil is an artifact with the purpose of separating the physical and metaphysical being of The Traveler.

“How do the neomuni use the CloudArk then?” Well its all done technologically. The CloudArk prototype was developed after the discovery of The Veil. The CloudArk is humanity’s Veil. Similar to how the vex attempted to make their own Veil, The Black Heart. Humanity actually developed the CloudArk in part from the vex network. When the neomuni are placed in cryogenic hibernation, The CloudArk then downloads the data from their minds. Allowing them to wake up in the virtual world similar to how humans transfer themselves into exo bodies. The CloudArk’s infrastructure IS supported by the paracausal energy field emitted by The Veil however.

The Veil doesn’t separate the powers of light and dark like people have been saying, instead it separates the forms those powers control.

“So what did The Veil do to The Traveler?” I believe The Veil could have separated The Traveler’s consciousness from its physical form. “Be free” The Witness says. Its my belief The Witness is now beginning to take control over The Traveler’s physical form.
