We know the hive have been on the moon since before the golden age ended (and atleast before the 1960's if we take toland literally). nezarec's pyramid rests inside the moon and he himself has been mentioned in ancient pre golden age texts (sidenote could he be a human?) combined with the knowledge that the hive atleast have been around before the earth formed via a dreadnought scanable in taken king. is it possible the impact event that formed the moon was directly related to nezarec? that pyramid is buried very deep and he's apparently been their for ages. the gravitational powers of a pyramid are strong enough to deform planets, its reasonable to me that they would then also be able to take a bunch of debris (or straight up rip off parts) of the earth and form it into a shell (moon) around the pyramid. it would also help explain what the hell the hive have been doing up their for so long
