"Gotta keep your hand close, otherwise you might end up with some asshat wiping your blood of their knife..." -A Dark Age Drifter

"Hey Jin, you doing alright buddy?"

The man addressed as Jin shifted his cards slightly, thinking whether to raise or just fold, always keeping a smirk on his face while in his off hand messing with some sort of emerald coin.

"Yeah, just thinking about how I'll spend your glimmer after this hand," he joked, slipping the coin back into a pocket in his duster.

"Because either I'll be dirt poor or you're gonna call me a cheat and pull your steel. Neither option is really ideal." 'Jin' continued, exchanging two more cards from the deck, getting a Ace of Clubs and three of Diamonds to go with a Ace of Hearts, three of Clubs, and Jack of Spades, throughing in a hundred more pieces of the glowing currency into the pot.

"Fold..." one of the other players said, furrowing their brow in frustration and taking a swig of what could somewhat be thought of as beer, with two more players following suit and grumbling.

"You know, I heard one of them Risen has set up camp near here..." the one who addressed 'Jin,' throwing in another hundred to match Jin's raise.

"Really now? Warlord?" Jin asked, eyeing his opponent's hand with the poison green coloring of his eyes, wondering what cards he had.

"Nah, hear he's more of a loner type; drifts from settlement to settlement. Hell, might even be here for all we know..." Jin's opponent replied, looking over to the bar and raised his voice.

"Any of you lugs a Risen?! 'Cause if you are, me and a few buds wanna see if you're really unkillable like they say!" he yelled over, only to get some drunken annoyed grunts in return.

"Then again, maybe he ain't." he continued with a small smug grin. "Your call. Fold?"

"Met a Risen once, seemed alright before he almost killed me in a shootout, and nah. Two pair, Ace high." Jin replied, showing his hand to the other players with a smile like a cat ready to pounce as he reached for the programmable matter before him.

His remaining opponent only said nothing, only giving a curt nod to the bartender, who went and locked the door.

"See, thing I heard about this Risen is that it has some sort or green coin with them all the time..." the other men in the bar begining to rise and gather around 'Jin.'

"Now, we could just let ya go and let them 'knights' or 'Iron Lords' or whatever you call them deal with you, but see, we want to see if we can kill one of you freaks, you get me?" Jin's opponent said, rising out of his own seat as well and leveling the tip of a knife at Jin's throat.

"Well now, that's a way to treat a guest... Also, never did catch your name." Jin replied, unfazed by the sharp object at his throat.

"Well, sense you were kind enough to ask, name's Grant, and I'll be killing you, unless you got another option?" Jin's opponent, now identified as 'Grant,' said with a dastardly chuckle with the others in the bar joining in.

"Well, how 'bout this? Flip a coin. Heads, I leave and leave my winnings. Tails, can try and kill me and you take my winnings. Either way, you'll win..." the Risen said with a eyebrow slightly raised, like he was challenging them to take the bet.

"Fine, but how 'bout you use that green coin you got? It'll be mine anyways in a few minutes." Grant replied, removing the knife from the dead thing's throat, for a moment at any rate as 'Jin' proceeded to pull out his green coin.

"Here goes nothin'." the drifting Risen said as he flipped his coin and saw everyone was looking at it, and with his other hand pulled out a handgun from the folds of his duster and fired at the heads of all the people around him.

The gore following each shot painted the grim dilapidated walls of the watering hole and floor as their bodies fell like the bags of meat every person really is in the end.

It took less then two seconds, and 'Jin' stood from the seat he was in and caught the coin he just flipped, never touching the floor.

"Could've been easy..." the loner muttered to himself as he grabbed his glimmer and headed towards the door, a grim look on his face as he left, thinking of what name he might use next.
