Viper was waiting at the Farm sitting by the edge of the pier looking out to see the night sky reflected on the surface of the water. It was so peaceful and tranquil.

It had been about two days since his last encounter with Revenant but he recently sent him a trasmission asking the moody Exo to meet him at The Farm because he had more info potentially on The Witch Queen. He did but he wasn't about to hand it over without a long and overdue chat with his fellow Exo.

Aria looked around and could see the jumpship in the distance coming in, "He's here V. Are you sure you want to do this? He's more than likely going to kill you with what you're about to say." The Hunter casually waved his ghost off and said, "Probably, but he needs a good dose of reality. He's one of the best but with the path he's been walking lately..." Viper cut himself short as he heard the footsteps in the distance.

The Hunter recognizes the footsteps on the creaking wood of the pier. They were obviously an Exo's because there was a slightly heavier impact as the foot made contact with the ground compared to a human or an awoken's footstep and if you really focused on it you could always hear a distinct but faint clink of metal and servos whirring from the sounds of Exo limbs when they moved.

Viper didn't turn around. He kept looking out to the water. Even if Aria hadn't told him about the jumpship he could tell from the presence alone who was standing behind him, "Good to see you too Rev." The Warlock stood in place looking down on the Hunter with his eyes boreing into the back of Viper's head as he stared him down, "Where's the information?" Viper chuckles, "Straight to the point eh? Typical Rev."

The Hunter raises his left hand holding a micro disc between his fingers containing a compiled list of data him and his fellow Hunters gathered from their routine scouting missions. Revenant attempts to take it but with a quick sleight of hand the disc dissappears from Viper's hand before the Warlock could even touch it, "Not yet. We're going to have a nice little chat you and I."

The Warlock looked at The Hunter annoyed and voiced, "I don't have time for stupid games Hunter." Viper matches his gaze, "Then make time." The Warlock shakes his head in annoyance and turns to leave, "This a waste of time. Lotus prep the jumpship."

The Hunter blinks in front of Revenant and smiles, "Geez you seriously need to lighten up Rev. The whole lone wolf attitude is so not your shtick." The Legendary Warlock's hand glowed with the faint scent of the Void eminating from it as his cold gaze met the Hunter's. Viper's smile disappeared quickly and was replaced with a serious expression that was uncommon to see on the jovial Hunter's face, "Take a seat. Now." The Hunter said coldly.

"I prefer to stand." The Warlock's gaze never faltered, "What do you want Viper?" The two walked back to the edge of the pier standing side by side looking out to the water quietly listening to the sounds of crickets chirping in the night air and the sound of the bonfire burning behind them.

The Hunter sighed and said quite bluntly and coldly, "You need to get your fucking act together Revenant." The Warlock turned his head towards the Hunter but didn't respond, "This whole doom and gloom thing. The lone wolf attitude while on missions. The whole dissappearing for days even months on end. I'm sick of it and what it's doing to so many folks. I'm calling you out on it because no one else will." The Warlock looking angered and was about to voice his opinion before the Hunter continued his tiraid, "Listen here you-" Viper cut him off with a tone that was so unnatural to hear in the Hunter's voice, "No! You shut the hell up while I'm talking and you're going to listen to every damn word I have to say because right now you're in no position to be calling me out on anything with the shit stunts you've been pulling. You hear me!?!"

Revenant was surprised and even speechless at Viper's tone. It was so out of character to hear the Hunter speak so harshly to anyone he couldn't even get a word in edge wise. Viper pointed at him, "You think you've won the fucking Gold Medal in the pain of loss Rev? I got a newsflash for you. You're not the only one of us who's suffered!" The Hunter could see the anger building in Revenant's face hidden behind that helmet of his but he wasn't going to falter in his arguement.

"Ever since she died you changed for the worst. If anything you're spitting on Sai's memory some days with how you act lately. You're on this one man vendetta to purge the world of The Darkness that took her away. Don't think I don't see the way you act when facing The Hive or any of the enemies of humanity. You're obsessed in this one man crusade of yours to avenge her that you practically go on suicidal runs just to prove what exactly? What makes your loss so different from others? What makes you any different from Eriana wanting to avenge the loss of Wei? Eris for her fireteam? Myself with Cayde?" The Hunter's gaze was unbreakable against the Warlock's. Viper knew what he was saying was wrong on some levels but Revenant needed this. Not just for himself but all those he surrounds himself with.

"Does this hurt to hear? Tough. Because there's more. You cling to the past like your life depends on it. In all the years I've known you I've never seen you once remove Felwinter's Helmet. Does his death still haunt you too? You carry his shotgun and covered it in the charms Sai used to carve. You let the past haunt and control you and it drives your reckless ambitions. This is no way to live Revenant!" The Warlock's hands were gripped into a tight fist and shaking visibly. He was getting under Revenant's skin.

Viper wasn't going to stop or hold back a single thought, "You refuse to acknowledge your actions. You seem to have no problem keeping your distance with everyone every time. What are you so damn afraid of? Have you taken a good look at your fireteammates lately? You know the friends that are still alive and breathing here in the present? Do you see the pain you cause them? The way you hurt them emotionally? The way you keep pushing them away? I swear Vella looks like she's on the verge of tears some days because of you. What the hell happened to you Revenant?"

The Warlock quickly grabbed the Hunter by the front of his cloak with both hands glowing with the light of the Void ready to devour his essence while the Hunter matched his speed and movement by holding the tip of a burning throwing knife against the side of his head, "Don't you dare lecture me you little rat. You're just as guilty as me when Cayde-6 died. So don't act like your superior! Revered and feared by the name of Scorn's Genocide. Viper-7 The Infamous Rogue Hunter who stalked The Tangled Shore and Dreaming City hunting down so many Scorn all in the name of revenge against orders. You were almost exiled for your behavior and lawless attitude. You killed so many without any regard for others. You made so many Scorn suffer and when they died you made sure there was nothing left of the body for The Fanatic to be able to reanimate in the future. What makes you so different from me Viper-7!?! You're still that infamous Hunter no matter how much you hide it behind that stupid smile of yours these days!!!"

Revenant's anger was unbridled and the void within his palms looked almost unstable as he continued shouting, "Don't you dare lecture me about clinging to the past when you Hunter's all carry or wear the Cloaks of those who died before you. You're no different from me wearing a replica of your mentors cloak as I am carrying mine's shotgun or wearing his helmet! You think you're superior!? You no different then me some days Viper!"

The Hunter screamed back blow for blow, "You think I don't know that Revenant-19!?! I won't ever forget what I was because that is a part of me! And I accept who I am today because of my past as well! But unlike you I saw the pain I caused to those around me!! I saw the respect I lost from Zavala and probably will never get back! The pain in Amanda's eyes with how distant I became. The sullen warrior I turned into in front of Ikora. The way my best friend was afraid of me as he tried to help me through my revenge. The way Aria stopped singing." Aria hearing that floats listlessly looking sullen over the painful memories Viper pulls up.

The Hunter continues, "Dammit Rev, do you even notice how much Lotus worries about you lately? She's the only one who will never leave your side no matter how far you will fall in this crusade of yours but sometimes I wonder. You left her side regularly sometimes unintentionally but the few times you did on purpose. How could you do that to her? One of these days you're going to dig a hole so deep that even Lotus can't save you from it because you pushed her away too."

Lotus looks equally as sullen as Aria. The two Guardians take notice and Viper puts his knife back in his pocket while Revenant releases his grip. The two stand silent for a good while. No words were spoken. No movement between the two. Viper doesn't say another word as he pulls out the disc with another sleight of hand and hands it over to Revenant before sitting back down on the edge of the pier to gaze and quietly muttered, "You were always Cayde's favorite and I hate that your insulting his memory too with your crap attitude." He pulls the hood of his Vanguard Dare Cloak up to hide his face, "I was just second fiddle in comparison to your accomplishments but at least I gave two shits about those around me, even you." Viper waved him off to leave, "The disc should have some intel on The Bitch Queen you can use. Maybe try that fancy new gun of yours we got from our last visit to the Cradle. Call me if you need me dumbass not that you'd ever bother."

Revenant left without so much as a goodbye or a word. Viper said his piece whether he got through to Warlock is a question for another day.
