Heading to Pearl for our 9th trip since 2014. We will be there 7/31-8/4. Never been to RM. Thought we’d share our general observations after eight trips in ten years. Since then the resort basically the same with a few improvements like the addition of new restaurants and The Mansion.

The rooms are dated, spacious and essentially unchanged. With only 88 rooms (Mansion, not included), we love this small and intimate feel of the resort. We’ve come to love getting a ground floor room on the quiet side of the pool. It’s super convenient to walk out your patio door and be right at the pool.

The food is typical Mexican resort. It’s generally good to very good but not great. The afternoon cookouts on the grill are a favorite.

The staff and service is the absolute best! Always surprised when many of the long time staff members remember us from year to year. While tipping is not required, we still tip the staff as do many other guests.

We have found ourselves participating less and less in the theme nights. Kinda been there done that. It’s still fun to watch those who do go all out. Still like to get dressed up in something sexy for dinner and will do a couple of theme night outfits. The evening shows are like the food - good but not great. We tend to gravitate back to the hot tub after dinner and mingling.

The Saturday afternoon foam party is our favorite event of the trip. It was pretty crazy in the earlier years but seems more tame lately. Think Spring Break for the 40-50 something crowd.

Still have never taken the membership tour and don’t plan to.

Desire was our introduction to the lifestyle. We are not super swingers by any stretch. We’ve played a few times but it’s never our priority. We love the sexy vibe and openness. Most of all we love the friendly people. We have made great friends over the years.
