Can you "out grow" your prescription of Ketoconazole and over time require a stronger dose?

I'm male. I have seborrheic dermatitis and recently my shampoo has failed to relieve the pain I feel in my scalp. I am using it as often as prescribed. I must admit, recently I have been home 24/7 so I rarely comb my hair and sometimes (not often) just put on a hat (lazy I know). I'm not sure if that is making my scalp more sensitive.
