I have had an extremely itchy spot on my scalp for a year now. I have no idea what it is and it’s just on the back of my head/upper neck area. It’s about the size of a nickel. What could this be and what can I use to treat it?

I got an anti itch/anti dandruff shampoo from dove and it’s not working.
When I itch, little scaley things / dry skin comes off and sometimes can cause a small cut/wound because when I wash my hair it’ll sting if I’ve been itching.
